My Students
In a city like Miami,FL where the streets are mean and unpredictable, it is a privilege to see the faces of my students five days out of the week. Away from the productive environment of my classroom, there's a lot that they face and are exposed to; and because of this, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to teach a unique subject: TV Production. I teach a subject that allows my students to take a break, have fun and express themselves.
I love the fact my class gives my students a refreshing outlet that most do not consider due to the fact, in our community, sports is the normal way out.
My class is a true example that there are other ares of interests out there, and the fact that I have students who have graduated and that have been inspired to take on majors like television journalism and production, gives me all the fuel I need to make sure we have what we need to be productive and effective.
My Project
These Canon T6 cameras will allow my students to gain real life in the field experience of film making. Being that they will have hands-on experience with cameras, they will understand the different settings and how to manipulate the camera to achieve specific cinematic footage.
Being that we are in an era where change is not only inevitable but dynamic, it is time to broaden this generation's skills.
It's hard to find funding for equipment like this because the interest is normally in athletics. My students deserve to have what they need in order to get the fullness of what my class has to offer.
