My students need blocks, engineering instruments, and architecture tools to build their imagination and invention centers.

My Students
We are problem solvers! Our second grade community is a place where we take pride in knowing that we all come from various backgrounds and all learn in different ways. Science, technology engineering, and math skills dominate the new frontiers of both higher education and employment. Our students deserve to use their brilliance around problem solving creatively, as well as traditional math tasks in order to prepare to be the next generation of scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. Problem solving is so much more than word problems and our students are adept at creative solutions and practice.
We're engineers, poets, scientists, artists, architects and much more.
My Project
Our students use play and building as not only a way to build critical thinking skills, but to strengthen relationships with their peers. Sharing and turn taking are the cornerstones of positive relationships, even for adults.
What better way to practice kindness and construction than collaborating on a super cool tower with spinning parts?
While working together using the requested engineering tools such as LEGO bricks and blocks, our students will see themselves as inventors. Naturally, we as their teachers see them as brilliant creative beings, but it's most important for our students to realize this about themselves. Having beautiful and inviting tools for building and creating will give our students a chance to play and construct new structures and new ideas for their futures.
