Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every morning, my students are excited to start the day of learning! All 20 of my special education students, from grades 3-5, are ready to work hard to achieve their goals in school.
We are a self-contained class of motivated and ambitious learners.
We are a group of English language learners, students with Special Needs, and students from challenging home environments. These students truly rise above any adversity in order to accomplish tasks and be successful learners. Even beyond all the labels they receive by early Elementary school, at the end of the day, they are all simply wonderful children who deserve the best tools and resources to help them grow and flourish.
My Project
Well, looks like were back to Blended Learning! With new health and safety protocols, we are facing so many student and staff absences that we are adjusting to remote and in-person simultaneous learning again.
These requested materials will help create a cohesive learning environment for students with a focus on tech literacy and proficiency.
Using these materials, we will be able to provide consistency, routine, and structure, in order to maintain our high expectations and goals while still adapting to our new "normal."
While the new demands of this year are still unfamiliar, our class will be ready to tackle them together!
We need cleaning supplies, like a timer soap dispenser, to maintain a safe and healthy classroom. The students will use the microphone headphones to connect with service providers and therapists over Zoom and Google Meets, in order to receive language and counseling therapy. We need desk pads, a monitor, stand, and keyboard with case to help us access students that are at home and transition from home to school. We will use our notes and paper stands to hold our workbooks and worksheets while we practice in our new Blended Learning classroom. With these new demands, we need more tools than ever to help us achieve our goals!
