This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever needed to write something down only to find that your pen ran out of ink? This happens all the time to my students when they try to use our classroom white boards.
I teach 23 first graders in the Silicon Valley of California.
While we are surrounded by millionaires from the tech industry, my students get by with very little. Most of my students live in poverty and almost all of them are learning English as their second language. You would never know that they have any difficulties though! They are always excited to come to school and love learning anything new.
My Project
Boogie Boards used to just be for the beach! Now they are also an amazing tech tool that students can use in the classroom. The Boogie Board is an eWriter. They can write with a stylus or a finger and then erase their writing with a touch of a button. No more dried out white board markers, no more complaining that the white board is so old that it won't erase. I will be able to check my students' work with ease and they will be able to demonstrate their understanding. These 14 Boogie Boards will help improve our classroom immensely.
Your donation will improve my students' learning experiences and help me to always know exactly how well they understand my lessons.
Thank you so much for taking an interest in my students and in public education!
