it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I know a lot of teachers have extravagant projects and I usually do, too. This is not one of those projects. This is a request for basic supplies that I often have to furnish myself or wait for months as requisitions are approved and processed by the school district.
As the new school year is set to begin in just a couple of months, I am worried about being able to supply my classroom this year.
Inflation has made the cost of such things as paper, pencils, etc. so expensive that it becomes a situation where a teacher is forced to decide which items are most essential on a list of items that all necessities for a class to run smoothly. In addition, my class lacks the ability to print out reports and other projects requiring the students to wait to submit assignments. A printer will make this easier, convenient, more cost effective and accessible for each student. Also included in my list are other office supplies that will also be used by the students on a daily basis.
Any given year, as a high school science teacher, I have between 150 to 175 students and that results in the need for unlimited supplies just to complete assignments, projects, and experiments. I know this project does not seem exciting but I hope that this request will reach out to someone that will help be happy to fulfill the needs of these students.
