My Project

Hi! I'm Syd, and I'm a first year teacher (sort of) who just started on May 1st (I know, weird--it's complicated okay?)! I am teaching English at the Performing Institute of Minnesota arts high school, and am ecstatic to be here--I adore how the school and staff encourage students to live in their authenticity and pursue the arts!

My hope with this wishlist is to provide a space that is fun, artistic, and comfortable for all of my students.

Many items on this list are basic classroom supplies (highlighters, post-its, paperclips). But others are there to liven up the classroom, to offer fidgeting opportunities for students who need them, and to provide contemporary, diverse books in which they can see themselves. My students deserve to exist in a space that values them, their needs, and their identities.

Any amount of donation is hugely appreciated. I cannot wait to provide an amazing space for my kids when we come back to school in August!
