Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. My prekindergarten class is part of what makes us a family. Our school is filled with students with many unique qualities. We all teach and learn differently, yet our goal remains solid. We are helping children become life long learners by building upon their strengths and different learning styles. Each day my students give me a reason to smile. They are filled with energy and inquiring minds. They inspire me and each other. Many of my children come from low income homes and many even live in shelters. When the children enter our classroom they are part of our prek family. Our classroom is like a safe haven and a home away from home. The children are full of excitement and ready to explore and learn about the world around them.
My Project
These books will enhance my pre-k's love for learning. The stories will expand their imaginations and help them to believe in their own dreams. The books will also expose children to people who are different from them. Many of the books I have chosen, showcase individuals with different abilities. Reading these books, and seeing the pictures, will help the children to become aware that just because someone looks different from them, doesn't mean they are less important, or incapable of doing things. Being able to add these books to my classroom will help to create 18 life -long readers and learners.
