My Students
Hello! I teach in a K-2 school with approximately 1,000 students. Our school has a diverse population of students. My students are smart, enthusiastic, creative, hardworking, eager, and respectful. My classroom consists of students from all different backgrounds. I have high functioning students, low functioning students, and ELL students. My school offers reading and math interventions to aid struggling learners in their educational success.
I am dedicated to my students.
It is my goal to provide an inviting, nurturing, and warm classroom where each student feels comfortable.
Our school does not receive Title I funding. Thus, the technology and resources in my classroom are limited. Most of my resources are supplied by either myself or through parent donations. The environment provided by the administration, teachers, and staff is inviting and nurturing. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of each student that walks through the doors.
My Project
A classroom can never have too many books! Our classroom library is lacking non-fiction books that interest the readers in my class. For this project I am asking for non-fiction books about holidays, cultures, important figures in history, and various science topics. These non-fiction books support the second grade standards and will be read in conjunction with science and socials studies lessons throughout the school year.
These books will be a great resource for my students during independent reading time.
I want my students to be excited about reading non-fiction books. Please help me develop a more expansive, interesting non-fiction classroom library.
