My Project
In today's post covid world I still find students who struggle significantly with basic phonics. Despite my best efforts in the class, some students fail to grasp their ABCs.
Increasing their exposure to phonics and phonological awareness will help students gain confidence in reading and writing.
Working daily with students who have learning disabilities, language barriers or speech delays, reading always seems to be a hurdle they struggle to get over. I find more students every year who have trouble remembering what letters look like, which leads to writing difficulties. They can't figure out how to say a word, which causes them to struggle with blending and segmenting. The phonological awareness kit seems to hold the key in helping students overcome these boundaries.
