This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Teaching at our school has given me the opportunity to make a difference in so many student's lives! I believe they have taught me just as much as I have taught them.
We are a Title I school that provides students with a safe place to learn in rough neighborhood.
The staff all work super hard to give these kids everything they need to succeed and I am so honored to get to join them with this goal in mind. All students deserve the best and that is exactly what my school tries to provide them.
My Project
In today's world it seems like kids are asked to learn so many things at such a young age, it's hard for them to retain everything. Kids need to be constantly reviewing these concepts in order for all the information to really stick.
When information in is in the form of educational games, students are more motivated to learn and will retain the information better!
I have chosen games that further student's knowledge of 1st grade topics as well as align with the 1st grade state standards. Scholars will be engaging in hands on addition and subtraction problems, as well as many 'Hot Dots' activities- an independent activity with an interactive pen that will check if students are correct. I believe these will meet the needs of my students and help everyone succeed at their level.
