My Students
I have a class of 25 wonderful students that come from low-income families and neighborhoods filled with poverty. My students deserve to have everything they need to succeed in life now and throughout their educational career. It is my passion to create a family atmosphere in my classroom to provide the necessary resources to help them succeed.
My classroom is filled with many diverse students with many different learning styles.
Each year I get a group of kids that love learning as much as I do. I have students that come to me with many challenges; my job is to help them reach their full potential.
I always make my students aware that learning never ends. When they ask me something I don't know the answer to, we find the answer together! Some days we laugh together, other days we move and dance, and there are even days that we get frustrated in our learning.
My Project
Student engagement in school can determine the climate of a classroom, even the school. Engaged students are better behaved and retain more knowledge. I want to be able to set the stage to engage my students and by equipping myself with the knowledge through these books, it will be a great way to motivate and engage my students in learning.
I need help finding new and different ways to keep my students meaningfully engaged while learning in all subjects, particularly reading and math.
All of the books I have requested focus on reading and math and increasing student engagement. Hopefully, this will also lead to taking pride in and sharing their learning with others. This will lead to a better classroom climate.
