Help me give my students a mini Library in our fully-self-contained classroom with books, puzzles, word dominos and SEL resources in reaching academic success.
The materials which include Dr. Seuss's Ultimate Beginning Reader Boxed Set that are being requested is to help build a mini library in our fully self contained classroom in which students reading grade levels range from Pre -K to 5. The mini library will be apart of stations rotation of 20mins per rotation. The rotations help students get movement breaks by moving from station to station. Also, the mini library will be a quiet place to practice reading and writing and SEL Skills. It will give them multiple opportunities to practice skills.
The books will help students with reaching academic success due to the reading books will focus on reading skills such as decoding, blending, fluency, etc.
The workbooks will increase opportunities for students to practice the skills being read. They will be able to identify words and increase decoding, blending and fluency skills Also, will be able to use the workbook to give students practice before, during and after stations to help them with practice opportunities writing skills both individually as well as independently. The furniture is for flexible seating as will as giving students a visual aid on how many people in the mini library at a time. They will have opportunities to borrow books during silent sustain reason for 15 minutes for each class period giving them and additional 45minutes to practice this skills. The students will be able to borrow books and take learning beyond the classroom by continuing to read at home. Most students do not have books at home to read but the materials for the mini library will afford many of students the opportunity to read in their home settings and they will be able to share it as a family. The puzzles and site word dominos will helps students who are hands on/kinesthetic learners to be able to be academically successful.
