Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The Mindfulness Project is designed to meet the needs of all our learners. Our goal is to create an inviting, mindful space that would allow our students with the tools to regulate their emotions.

By donating to this project, you are helping to create a safe retreat for our students.

Each item that is included on the list will be strategically placed within the room, which will essentially create a center type setup. The first center is the cozy corner. This area will consist of 2 bean bag chairs, the round rug, and bluetooth headphones, which will play calm music. The next center is geared for students who require more visual stimulation. In this center, the Bubble panel would be mounted to the wall. The crash mat would be placed below the panel. The next center would consist of a table and locked storage shelf, which will have sensory items. This shelf will be locked up at the end of the day to ensure they remain in the same area and available to others. The last area would be for students who need to move. The liquid floor mats are for students who need tactile and movement breaks.
