My Students

Our classroom is located in San Tan Valley, Az. It is a second grade direct instruction classroom. Our class is made up of kids from our area and students who have immigrated here from other countries and continents. Our school is a back-to-basics charter school that focuses on character and patriotism.

There are kids from all different walks of life in our class and they all share the common goal of wanting to learn.

We are excited to get together each day, go on adventures in books, and to discover new things we didn't know before. We work hard to try our best and are learning that it is ok to make mistakes. That's how we learn.

My Project

The power pens and cards are a great math tool. They are easy for students to use and help them to self-correct. The wide range of mathematical topics allows any student who is struggling to find something applicable to them.

These power pens and cards will directly impact my bottom 25% of students.

These are the kiddos that are struggling and in danger of retention. They don't have the skills to work independently because they don't understand foundational skills. With these pens, they can work on any of the given tasks quietly and independently. This allows me, the teacher, to work one on one with students at the same time. This would be a huge gift to my kids and to me.
