Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is my first year teaching lower grades in my 27 years of being an educator! Needless to say, it has been a great learning curve! I understand that with younger learners (6-7 years old), they are fascinated with books and the covers. With this in mind, I have found the need to be able to properly display our read alouds to entice the kids to want to re-read our books during their independent reading times.
The first grade Masterminds in our classroom will be engaged in reading and writing through our read alouds and charting using the chart display that I also am in need of!
Having a portable chart display will allow my students to reference charts in the room throughout my literacy (and math) periods. This will help support my multilingual learners through pictures and key words that will be displayed.
