Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Welcome to my preschool classroom where my three and four-year-old students have fun learning through hands-on experiences, social interactions, individual, small group, and whole-group experiences. We are a charter school in New Haven, CT. The students come from varied backgrounds, but the majority are from low-income families. I am the first teacher these students have at our school, and I strive to make their first year in school enjoyable and successful. Preschool students are curious and want to learn, and I am glad I can help them do that.

My Project

My school is currently going through the NAYEC accreditation process. Once accredited we will be acknowledged as having a high quality preschool program. After doing a self study of my classroom I realized I am in need of posters that show how diverse our world is.

The posters illustrate the many family structures in our world, the countless job opportunities our students can strive for, and the varied emotions all humans encounter.

The posters will represent all students making them feel welcome and acknowledged in our classroom. The posters will help them dream big dreams!
