Help me give my students more flexibility, and a new place to sit in the classroom besides their desks!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very motivated to succeed, even with the challenges of the pandemic. They are driven by helping each other and knowing that everything we do in class helps us learn. My favorite moments are when a subject finally clicks, and they get very excited! We have a lot of fun and always remember to keep learning fun!
I strive to build independence in my classroom.
Students work collaboratively and learn by doing. We focus on what it means to be a leader and how to support one another in the learning and emotionally.
My Project
Moving lessons from desks to the carpet will help keep students engaged. Many believe that learning from the carpet should end after K-2, however 4th graders still will benefit from 10-15 minute mini-lessons on the ground to help engage them and keep them focused. It also allows students to get up and move throughout the day.
There are less distractions, and students are able to collaborate with more peers on a carpet.
I will also be able to hear the students clearer, and provide more focused attention. Social emotional learning will be easier and it will help the classroom feel more like a community.
