My Students
Our students and families are the heart of our school! It is an exceptional place with a diverse population both ethnically and socioeconomically. Our classroom is a place where they can spread their wings in a safe, fun environment. I offer flexible seating with wobble stools, stability balls, and pillows with low tables. Our classroom is their home away from home and I know that some days they spend more time with me, then they do with their own families. I am dedicated to making sure they feel comfortable, relaxed, and ready to learn everyday! They grow so much in this first year of school, and my number one priority is helping them to love school and giving them confidence as they start their educational journey!
My Project
Our current classroom carpet has seen better days! It's at least 10 years old and has been steam cleaned several times, and is showing wear and warping. A new carpet would be a fantastic addition to our flexible seating classroom!
I use the bright colors to correlate with group tables and help organize reading and math rotations.
Many students entering kindergarten do not know numbers or letters yet, but do know their colors. Using the colored rows and tables is a way for them to be independent right from the beginning!
Having a safe and fun environment is essential to any classroom, and several students have tripped over our current rugs warped edge. I would like to minimize accidents with a new rug that will lay flat, smell good, and look bright!
