The Lunar New Year/ Spring Festival

Help me give my students items to help them celebrate the Chinese New Year.

My Project

As we embark on a new year in school, my students will start the year off celebrating and learning about The Lunar New Year. My students are exceptional learners; which makes this activity very special for them to learn about.

If this project is funded I will begin the lesson by projecting vocabulary words on the board for the students to read aloud.

I anticipate this lesson will last for a week. Once we have recited the vocabulary words and completed an activity on them, I will then read the book, Celebrate New Year. I plan on providing orange juice to the students, fortune cookies, Chinese fans, red envelopes and gold coins as a way to show ways of good luck. I am requesting a microwave to warm up the Ramen Noodles for the students. We will also read the book titled, Maisy's New Year ending the week with a special treat eating noodles with bamboo sticks. Receiving these items will make a difference with my student by teaching them about different cultures and their traditions.
