My students need supplies for science experiments. In our curriculum we are required to mix science, math, and writing. We need supplies to meet the demands of the future.
I teach in a very unique building. Our building hosts three programs. We have special education from kindergarten to high school. We also have a special education preschool program. Last but not least we are an elementary building. We service some of the most at-risk students in our area. Our building has kindergarten to fifth grade students.
Our school is not located in a neighborhood like most schools.
All our students are bused in or dropped off by parents. We have one of the highest poverty rates in the area. We are only a few percentage points from 100%. We have at least one homeless student in each classroom. We serve the most at-risk group of students to date.
My Project
We want to learn about the world and have a chance to grow in the world of science and math. Physical Science is the basics of life and we need to do experiments to learn how the world works. We have the curriculum to do so, but no supplies to do experiments. This is current and great for what the future holds. It is also impossible to do this without any materials.
We need two Physical Science kits.
We also have a writing curriculum that demands that we write about science and math also. We write lab reports in second grade. Please help us meet the demands of the future. Science and math are the jobs that are currently booming.
