This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first year teacher teaching in a low income, Title I school in CA. I am in need of developing my classroom library, but also to be able to provide books to my students so they are able to read at their level.
My students are amazing kids who unfortunately have been severely impacted by COVID and go through way too much in their personal lives than what a child should go through.
I teach a 4th grade class with a wide range of reading levels, from kindergarten to 4th grade. These kids have gone through two other teachers who have left them, spent their vital years of education during virtual learning, and some get exposed to so many things that they should not be getting exposed to at such a young age. They are such a sweet group of kids who deserve a great experience in school and deserve to learn how to read.
Please help with anything you can. I would be extremely grateful!
