Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my high school enrichment program by supporting my students with a binding machine and binding coils. Students in this program learn how to create, and bind their own notebooks, and journals to use in their classes, or for their personal use. We have been offering this enrichment for two years now, students love the feeling of writing on their very unique creation.
Your help, and donation for this materials will give my students a real knowledge of how real (store bought) notebooks, journals, and planners are created.
As the teacher of this enrichment, I have taken multiple classes, and I have done extensive research of methods, and materials. I also have my personal workshop at home, which I do as a side activity. Students learn different binding techniques, starting with older methods like hand-stitching, and adhesive until modern binding coils, and plastic spirals.
The creation of this books helps them create interest in increasing a skill that later in life could use to be business owners, or maybe to have their own printing/binding shop.
They use their made books to take notes for their classes, or even as their journals. Students also have made them for nice gifts for family and friends. All of this is taught to be hand-crafted and to use their own creation.
