Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Project
I am continually inspired by my first grade students’ curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. They bring joy and energy to our classroom, and I strive to create experiences that nurture their growth in meaningful ways. To support their development in foundational math skills, I am seeking funding to create a classroom supermarket complete with a cash register and play money. This hands-on, real-world learning environment will allow students to practice counting, addition, subtraction, and money management through engaging role-play. By acting as shoppers and cashiers, they will not only strengthen their math fluency but also build communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. This project transforms abstract concepts into tangible experiences, helping students see themselves as capable and confident mathematicians.
