My Students
Our students and families are the heart of our school! It is an exceptional place with a diverse population both ethnically and socioeconomically. I love that the educational pendulum is swinging back in favor of hands-on projects and problem solving through doing! This is especially important for early childhood because they need that concrete exploration trial and error time to understand how the world around them works! My kindergarteners love to explore, create, and have fun! They grow so much in this first year of school, and my number one priority is helping them to love school and giving them confidence as they start their educational journey!
My Project
The engineering materials will help my students to explore creative concepts and problem solve with a team! I need materials that are going to challenge my kiddos and keep them coming back through creative play. The large magnetic board and engineering kits will give my students opportunities to test plans and theories while having fun. The magnetic tiles will allow them to understand how shapes are all around us and work together to make up our world. These are necessary 21st century skills that they can build on all year long!
The whiteboards will help students to stay engaged during reading and math lessons.
I can quickly see who needs help and offer feedback immediately! These whiteboards are double sided, so they can practice correct letter formation during our writing and reading time, and have more open ended space for math drawings and equations on the blank side! The size is also perfect for little hands.
