My Project

I treasure the curiosity and talents of my students. Each child brings a unique perspective to the classroom, fueling a dynamic learning environment. Our project to build bee hotels not only taps into their creativity but also instills a sense of environmental stewardship.

Carl & Kay 600 Pipe Cleaners & 74 Googly Eyes:

Learning Impact: Enhances fine motor skills and artistic expression. Students can use these to add creative flair to their bee hotels, making the project personal and engaging.

Goal: Encourage creativity and attention to detail in crafting.

HESESOH 100 Pack Cardboard Tubes:

Learning Impact: Directly used for creating the main structure of bee hotels. This teaches students about the needs of bees and the design principles of creating safe habitats.

Goal: Develop an understanding of ecosystems and the importance of conservation.

Glue Dots, Krazy Tape, and AdTech Hot Glue:

Learning Impact: These adhesives will help students learn to assemble and secure materials with precision and care, important skills in both art and science projects.

Goal: Foster practical skills in building and maintaining sturdy structures.

School Smart Railroad Boards:

Learning Impact: Provides a durable base for the bee hotels, teaching students about structural integrity and design.

Goal: Enhance understanding of basic engineering and architectural principles.

Crayola Colors Of The World Washable Paint:

Learning Impact: Allows students to decorate their bee hotels, making the learning process more engaging and personalized.

Goal: Promote self-expression and exploration of color and design.

Goals for This Project:

My primary goal is to blend artistic creativity with environmental science, providing a hands-on learning experience that emphasizes the role each student can play in ecosystem conservation. By completing this project, students will not only learn about the biology of bees and their role in our environment but also develop a lasting appreciation for wildlife conservation.
