My Students

There are 19 enthusiastic students in my kindergarten classroom. We are one of seven kindergarten classes in a school of over 900 students. Some of our students speak two languages. Many of our students attended pre-kindergarten. Our students are diverse, unique and beautiful!

Their excitement for learning is contagious.

They love to explore outside and discover new things. They love to find books about what they are discovering and read them. They also enjoy writing their own stories about what they have learned.

My Project

Students learn best when they are having fun and exploring. This project will allow the students to learn about the life cycle of the butterfly and ladybug in a tactile, exciting way. The students will observe the habitats and life cycles of these insects and then apply their knowledge to design a model habitat for a ladybug and a butterfly.

The students need a motivating butterfly and ladybug activity that will enhance their learning while experiencing the fun of science.

These activities will allow the students to journal and track the life cycles of both insects while we incorporate literature, math, and art into the curriculum to maximize their learning.
