Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Library Peeps is a group of upper graders, fourth and fifth grade students, who volunteer their free time in the school library. They take care of shelving and preparing activities and read alouds for the younger students. They clean, and tidy the shelves. They take such pride in their work. They are responsible and reliable young people. The Library Peeps would like to continue their work through the summer break by helping our community kids continue to read.
The Library Peeps would like to supply and upkeep our Little Free Community Library all summer long!
The structure for the little free library was built and provided by our local Girl Scouts Troop, who are also students at our school. There are not many books in the little library right now, and with summer break nearing, it would be a place for the entire community to find good books to share and carry on reading all summer long.
Help our Library Peeps group restock our "little free community library" for the summer so they can take their love for service to the entire community. It is so important to keep providing kids with opportunities to serve others. And our Library Peeps love to help without expectation of reward. They just love to be useful!
