My Project
My goal for this project is to give my students the confidence and skills they need to pursue careers in law and public safety. By incorporating real-world materials into our lessons, I want to foster an environment where students can directly connect their learning with practical applications through SkillsUSA's Law and Public Safety CTE program. Each day, I see their commitment to understanding the justice system and their desire to make a positive impact on their communities. These students are future leaders, and they are excited to explore careers in law enforcement and public service.
The specific items I am requesting—handcuffs, radios, duty belts, and rubber guns—will provide my students with hands-on experience, making their learning both practical and immersive.
These materials will allow them to better understand the equipment used by law enforcement professionals. For example, students will practice proper handcuffing techniques, learn how to use radios for communication, and get a feel for the weight and functionality of duty belts. They will even role-play real-life scenarios using rubber guns, helping them understand the responsibility that comes with these tools in a public safety context. These hands-on experiences will make abstract concepts more tangible, ensuring that students are not only learning but also applying what they’ve studied in a safe, controlled environment.
