Our Knight's Battle of the Books team improved this year and did not finish last in the county battle! In order to improve our results next year, I want to give each team member a set of the required books to keep. Students read each book to prepare for the school Battle of the Books which qualifies them for the school team going to the county Battle of the Books in February. Students enjoy the comrade of being on a team. Usually, the students that participate in Battle of the Books are not on an athletic team. This academic team gives the students the opportunity to work with others in a team setting while they are reading and learning.
Battle of the Books promotes literacy in a fun and competitive way!
Having unlimited access to the books will allow students to revisit the books as often as they like. They can reread or study the books to prepare for the school and county battle. This will also allow students to add to or start their own home library which promotes literacy.
