This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third graders are curious, compassionate, and full of energy. They love hands-on learning and are always eager to get their hands dirty--especially in the garden we have grown right outside our classroom door!

Many of my students don't have access to outdoor learning spaces at home, so this garden is a special place for them to learn, connect, and grow.

Our class is caring for a pollinator garden to support bees, butterflies, and other important insects. But we need help! Right now, we don't have the proper child-sized tools or seating to maintain and enjoy the space.

With this project, my students will receive age-appropriate garden tools to safely dig, plant, and tend to the garden themselves. Benches will provide a comfortable place to observe pollinators, write in journals, read, and reflect during outdoor learning time.

This garden is more than a science lesson--it's a living classroom where students learn responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of caring for our environment. The Kindness Garden gives kids the chance to grow academically, socially, and emotionally while making a positive impact on the world around them.
