The Kindness Closet School Thrift Store Project

Help me give my students things like a clothes rack, shelving storage, and a shoe rack for an organized "Thrift Store" that we call "The Kindness Closet" at our school to get free items for themselves, family members, events, job interviews and more.

My Students

I teach art at a small alternative Title I High School where we have a unique roster of students who have experienced a lot for their young age. Some of our students need help staying on track to graduate, some need our small school environment, and some need the support and caring staff that our school offers. The one thing that they all have in common is the sense of belonging to a family at our school.

We have created a "Kindness Closet" with gently used clothing and household items that are readily available for our students, their families or anyone in our community.

My Project

Our High School is a Title 1, alternative school and we have wonderful students from all walks of life. We created our own thrift store called "The Kindness Closet" where we collect gently used clothes, coats, shoes, purses, backpacks, business clothes, accessories, household items and more.

Our "Kindness Closet" thrift store has helped our students from looking successful at job interviews to obtaining household items for their living situations, all at no charge.

We would like to obtain clothing shelving and racks so we can organize clothes by size and style and have additional shelves available for other items in our large closet.
