My students need a classroom "organ" that's vital to their learning. It's the Rainbow Group Table that's sometimes referred to has the "Kidney Table".

I am currently a Literacy Coach in an urban school district gearing up to return to the front lines of education, the classrrom.
Although I love working with adults, I'm so excited to be going back to working with children directly.
This is my first passion in education. For the past six years I have support teachers by modeling literacy lessons, and locating effective resources that promote students' learning. Due to limited funding, resources are scarce. Many of the children also come from economically disadvantaged homes. Nonetheless, my students are eager to learn.
My philosphy is that all students are capable of learning if they are known, supported, and guided. Students can achieve some level of success especially if they have the materials necessary to improve their learning. In my district funds have been drastically cut year after year. Students are recieveing less and less support and expected to grow.
We are a learning community, more so than a classroom, because everyone who steps through our door is a teacher of something to someone. Please help me inspire my students to be life long learners!
I'm excited to work with my students during small group instruction in my classroom. The Rainbow Group Table will allow a space for me to guide students' learning one-on-one or in a small group. Working with students during small group instruction is critical to moving them forward in their thinking and learning. This table is something that will be used everyday to scaffold students' learning.
By donating the Rainbow Group Table every child will have the opportunity to feel successful after experiencing a productive struggle.
Students sitting in front of a teacher getting guidance and support on a task will help them gain confidence and perseverance. Students will be able to be guided through task and learn. They will have multiple opportunities to have skills and concepts modeled for them up close and personal while sitting at this table. Also, students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of various concepts and receive immediate feedback at the Rainbow Group Table. During partnership work times, students will enjoy sitting on the Soft Seats. This will give students a cozy place to sit with a classmate to practice skills and concepts learned. All of this can be easily done if I have the Rainbow Table and Soft Seats for students in my classroom. Your donation and contribution to our classroom will be invaluable and make our classroom more complete for learning.
