Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in my classroom is loud, energetic, and fast-paced. I teach four band courses and two piano/music theory courses. My students work extremely hard to come together and develop their musical skills, both as soloists and as part of an ensemble.
My school is situated in the middle of a struggling community.
Our population is largely Hispanic, and many of our students are English Language Learners. The students at my school view many of our school organizations as a second family and support system.
My Project
At my school, we are lucky enough to still be able to expand our fine arts programs in the midst of ever-expanding budget cuts. In order to do so, we must rely on projects like these to get the materials that we need. The items we have requested will allow more students to participate in the piano program at my school.
My students take pride in what they do.
They are hardworking and dedicated to their musical education. The keyboards and accessories we are requesting will help my students improve and expand their musical skills through regular practice and performance.
