My Students
My students have brilliant minds and big goals! They attend a Title I school in the District of Columbia that serves 100% economically disadvantaged families. Most of my students are English Language Learners who are learning the content and English at the same time.
My students are invested in their education, love to read, and are growing as civic leaders in their communities.
My students care about each other and the environment and want to make the world a better place!
My Project
The art supplies, like paint and markers will make a difference in my students learning by allowing them to be creative in many ways. My students need the art supplies for their poster presentations on our unit, "Overcoming Adversity," in which they get to express their learning in a fun and interesting way.
I would love to provide my students with the materials and greater opportunities for them to explore the studio art world as means of learning who they want to be in society.
Art is a great way for students to learn ways to express themselves and use their creativity as an outlet for their emotions. When you give a student a paint brush a new world has been exposed. Kids teach adults so many things with the way they choose to express what is going on in their lives. Art is a fantastic learning tool for students.
