My students need basic lab supplies, like beakers, aprons and gloves, and chemistry kits to make their first experience with chemistry spectacular!

My Students
Do you remember your HS chemistry class? Was it the class that make you think you wanted to become the next famous scientist to discover the newest breakthrough in human history? That is the type of class that I would like for my young mad scientists.
My students are eager to learn students in the South Bronx.
Jimmy Carter once said that "the South Bronx was one of the worst slums in America." Our students are showing the world that they do not fall into this stereotype. Most of my students live below the poverty line but, through their love of learning, are on their way to college and beyond. We are a new school who is sharing a building in the South Bronx. Unfortunately, our cabinets are bare and we are improvising for much of our class and lab. I would like for my students to have access to the same types of lab equipment that you would find in a typical HS lab.
My Project
Your donation of basic lab equipment and chemistry kits will help us to learn more about how the world around us works. It is a great feeling to have a student discover the answer to a question rather than just memorize stale and at times boring facts simply to repeat what they memorized. My students learn best by inquiry and challenged based learning!
Your donation would allow my students in my Title 1 school (Title 1 designation is given to schools where most of the students' family income is below the poverty line) to begin to learn the basic techniques for college readiness.
This donation would allow them to have access to the same materials that most college prep high schools have to prepare their students for college and beyond.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
