This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is hard to get students to really love to read. I teach at a Title I school, ESL 5th grade. Many of my students start the school year with the fear of reading.

By bringing books that interest them, make them laugh, and allow them to make connections, you see a new spark in their eyes, and that's the excitement I want to continue giving my students year after year!

My students LOVED reading The One and Only Ivan, and now that they have the sequel, I can't wait for them to get the opportunity to love The One and Only Bob as well.
