This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and full of a want to thrive. My class is composed of students with Autism between the ages of 7 and 10. Each student comes to school with such a positive attitude despite their needs. Some days are tough and that's what makes us learn and grow. As a whole, we are learning that hard work pays off and that we are each special in our own way.

A quote in our classroom is "Why fit in, when you were born to stand out" by Dr. Seuss.

This is a reminder that though our abilities might be different than others, we are proud to be ourselves. Each student in our classroom has a different need. Some of us need extra time to finish our work. Others need simpler instructions. Some of us are visual learners and others are auditory learners. We are all learning to understand our emotions. I am teaching them, but they are also teaching me. I am so proud of the kind of human beings they've become. They are kind and so helpful all the time. All in all, we are all so proud of what we are accomplishing.

My Project

Students are always excited when it comes to the usage of devices, but when we think of all the noise and distractions they produce our sanity is tested. Headphones are an essential tool in our learning! Headphones are a necessity when using technology because students need to stay focused on their own devices instead of hearing a class full of them.

Headphones allow students to hear what they are learning when using devices in the classroom.

We do not want to distract others or get distracted ourselves when working. In our classroom, any type of noise is distraction so we value silence in the class. Headphones will allow us to work with minimal distraction and allow students to concentrate on their learning.
