The Joy of Music!

Help me give my students some special seating so that everyone can participate, as well as musical instruments and other whole group materials so that my students will be able to create music together during whole group play.

My Project

Welcome to PreK 3! My students are entering school for the very first time. My goal is to make their first learning experience one that is full of joy.

What better way to show that school is full of joy than through music and playful whole group experiences?

Using these instruments together as a team, students will learn tonality, rhythm, improvisation and composition skills, emergent literacy skills such as rhyme awareness, active listening, sound-letter associations, social emotional skills such as self-confidence, empathy, and self-regulation. Music will also teach them emerging math skills, cause/effect, and gross and fine motor skills! That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what students learn through music. Music is a powerhouse of learning and is so much fun! I'm also asking for special seating to ensure that all learners are able to participate in our fun music and learning opportunities and some books to celebrate our individual uniqueness or to help us engage in dramatic retelling of familiar stories.
