My Project
As an educator, I want my students to thrive in all capacities. However, there seems to be an underlying issue that is arising throughout education... students cannot read! I know this may sound surprising, however, this is what many educators are encountering nowadays. I want to change this narrative by building a foundation of a love for reading from our youngest to oldest student. By implementing strategic lessons through whole and small groups, reading groups, and intervention sessions focused on phonics, fluency, and comprehension, students can begin their path to becoming efficient and effective readers!
So, how can we as a community help achieve this attainable goal of instilling a love for reading?
By incorporating reading programs like Hooked on Phonics, CVC charts and games, and a plethora of other resources geared to supporting the love and understanding of reading.
Once the phonological and phonemic skills are established and embedded within a child, these skills can help support them as they progress through the different levels of learning to read. So, let's start getting these students to learn how to read!
