This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they love to come to school each day! On weekends or school breaks, I will ask the students if they had a good time off, and a lot will say no because they missed school and their teachers. It is heartwarming and humbling because, ​for a lot of students, school is the best part of their lives. They know they have people at school who genuinely care about them and want the best for them.

My students need help buying supplies as many of them cannot afford the necessities to be prepared every day for school.

This is a fact of life for many of them, so I need to use unconventional ways to obtain what they would deem an extra supply, but for my technology class, I deem a necessity.

The school I teach in is a wonderful generational neighborhood. A lot of my current students are the offspring of my former students. In addition, many of the teachers have been teaching at this same school for decades, myself included. It is really a wonderful school to teach in with amazing students and staff members to spend my days with.

My Project

My students need headphones so incredibly badly! When we go online to complete online activities and there is sound, it makes it almost impossible to complete the activity.

Having a pair of headphones to be able to pass out to each student during computer class would be absolutely invaluable to me as a technology education teacher.

Most of my students come to class without a pair of headphones to use while in computer class, and I feel it is necessary for me to be able to provide this essential piece of equipment for them while they are in computer class. This will allow for the my students to receive the best possible instruction while working in my class.
