Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a school social worker, I always strive to provide my students a safe and comfortable space they feel welcome to come to. By creating a cozy and calming area, students will have the opportunity to regulate and process emotions, trauma, and other difficult situations they may endure during the school year.
These materials will be used to create the type of space my students are looking for on our campus.
Along with utilizing coping skills and other emotional-regulation resources, these materials will be key in assisting students with their social emotional learning.
My students are special for the strength and ability they have to take on challenging experiences and the emotions that come with them. Social emotional learning is a top priority!
