My Students
The Incredibles of my room will need to start the year on the right track, but that may not happen if they don't have all of the basic school supplies to succeed. They need you to help them become the leaders and heroes that they strive to be by providing them the necessary tools to reach success.
The beautiful, colorful, intelligent, persistent, and kind Incredibles of my room come from immigrant families with limited means, living in public housing in Washington state.
They manage to complete their homework , care for their siblings, and complete their chores before going to bed each night. However their circumstances, each Incredible works hard to achieve his or her goals in third grade and in life. They strive to be leaders and heroes, like their namesake. The Incredibles want to make the world a better place for everyone.
My Project
A house without a strong foundation will crumble. The Incredibles need foundational, basic supplies to start the school year on the right track. The most important supplies are the notebooks that will be used as their math reflection journals, reading notebooks, and writing journals. The folders will hold their homework and the inspirational pencils will remind them daily to "believe and achieve". Lastly, the People Colors colored pencils will boost their self-esteem and celebrate the diversity in our classroom.
You will make a huge impact by helping to purchase the basic school supplies that the Incredibles will need to start the school year on the right track.
They worry how their parents will afford to buy all of the necessary school supplies for them and for their siblings. Can you imagine their reactions when they walk in on the first day of school and see your gifts? The first day of school is already stressful and your gift will greatly ease that stress.
