This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every student in my classroom deserves the opportunity to learn. They can learn, and as an educator, I just need to figure out how to adjust the delivery and the way a student demonstrates their learning. Most of the students I will be working with this year are nonverbal students with autism and they need a lot of classroom visuals and behavior tools. I need to laminate visual charts and information, as well as, provide students with the level of support that they need. Visual aids can help my students because it expands their ability to communicate with their peers and surroundings. Most of the visual aids (charts, schedules, maps, graph, pictures) are laminated to allow students to make choices and express their needs.Laminating pouches, and the use of velcro are an essential part of providing visual support and opportunities for students to communicate when provided with the right tools.
