Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working at a Title 1 School can be hectic sometimes, but it’s so worth it. The children are worth it. However, sometimes we get sweet babies who need more help regulating their emotions.
These resources such as the books will be helpful to read to them but also for myself to learn more about how children regulate emotions (whether they are on the spectrum or not).
I have implemented a calm down corner this year, but students would benefit from more fidgets and a weighted stuffed animal. I want them to feel like their classroom is a safe space to regulate those emotions.
