My Project
The Hunger Games allows students to explore survival, power, and social justice themes. The story encourages critical thinking about inequality, government control, and personal choice. Students can reflect on their values and the world around them by engaging with the characters and their challenges. The book also fosters discussions on resilience, empathy, and the consequences of societal structures, all of which can help students develop their analytical and moral reasoning skills at a pivotal age. Plus, it's a captivating narrative that promotes reading engagement while teaching important life lessons.
Students will then create a Problem-Based Project after the completion of the reading.
Topics for student choice would include Analyzing Social Inequality and Class Systems, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, The Ethics of Surveillance and Media Manipulation, Designing a Fair and Effective Government, The Psychology of Survival and Human Behavior in Extreme Conditions, Technology and Its Role in Society, The Role of Propaganda and Public Perception, Human Rights and the Ethics of the Hunger Games, and The Nature of Rebellion and Revolution.
