The Hunger Games: Diving Into Dystopian Literature
Help me give my students their own copy of "The Hunger Games" so that they can take it home to read, write about the book, and complete assignments and projects.
"The Hunger Games" is a highly engaging work of literature that students will get students excited to read. Through this book, we will have important discussions about gender, racism, social class, and different types of governments. We will discuss character and learn about empathy. Students will learn how to dig deep into a text to have these types of discussions and to show their thinking in their writing. They will engage in creative projects in this unit to show their knowledge in different ways. This book will give them a lens in which to view our own world and society.
