I teach students who come from a variety of different backgrounds and learning styles. My students come from low-income homes that have a hard time providing supplies for their children. A majority of them come from single-parent homes or live with another family member because their parents are unable to take care of them. Many of them are responsible for taking care of their other siblings before and after school. My students also participate in a free breakfast and lunch program.
I am an intervention specialist who works with 3rd and 4th-grade students.
I teach the special education population. These students all have learning disabilities and have Individualized Education Plans (IEP) to help them achieve goals. The population I serve is below grade level in about every subject. I provide intervention services on a daily basis.
My Project
I would like to get my students the Heggerty Program. This program will help give my students Phonemic Awareness. It is just the manual that would help me instruct them in the classroom. This program is a daily program to help them with their phonemic awareness.

I also have some other basic materials to be used in the classroom. These materials will help my classroom be ran more smoothly. I used to have the Heggerty Program on video, but now it is expired. The book will ensure I have it each and every year.
