Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a blended group of first grade gifted children and high achieving second graders. The class is inclusive to all and the group works hard to build one another up everyday. Having two age groups within the classroom gives the students new perspectives to learn from and interact with.

The class is a community of engaged learners who work with peers to enhance their understanding in the classroom.

The class is high energy and extremely involved. They work hard everyday to do their best work and come to class ready to learn.

My Project

The carpet is a place for students to come together. In the classroom we begin and end our day together at the carpet. The carpet is a place to share ideas, learn, and connect with one another. It sets the tone for each day and each lesson within.

Just like the kitchen is the heart of the home, the carpet is the heart of the classroom.

My kiddos are able to work independently, learn a new skill, or collaborate with a classmate on this classroom centerpiece. By donating to our classroom you are helping to set a tone for the room that encourages exploration and togetherness.
