My students need an interactive Reading/Writing center to be fully immersed in exciting literacy experiences. The storage for books and materials will enable my students to take responsibility for their resources and ultimately, their learning.
I am blessed beyond measure to teach first grade! Everyday I have fun visiting with, listening to, and teaching a room full of six and seven year old students who are full of life and wonder.
One of the greatest qualities of my kiddos are that no matter what struggles they may face in their daily life, they persevere.
One example of this would be when Hurricane Harvey hit our area. The students came back to school ready to take on anything they faced! They come to school each morning with lots of smiles and hugs. I ensure my classroom is always a happy place, full of rich learning opportunities where children can thrive, grow, and most importantly, know they are loved.
My Project
I am requesting a reading/writing center for my classroom. This center will be our central meeting place for learning. It will allow students to be engaged in reading and writing activities in both small and large group settings. Books, writing tools, and magnetic letters will all be within reach with the storage it provides.
This center will be at the heart of our learning.
It will be the spot where we become readers, writers, and storytellers. It will be a place where we learn to be brave and take risks. Most of all, it will be where we become a first grade family, working and learning together. Thank you for investing in our future.
