My Project

Oh, no! The Grinch has shown up in Kindergarten. Now, it's our responsibility to teach him kindness. I absolutely love this time of year with my Kindergarteners. They adore the visit from the elf, but we also have a Grinch!

Instead of getting upset with our Grinch, I encourage my students to show him how to be kind.

Every day, we demonstrate the behavior he should adopt so he can make friends, learn, and lead a good life. It's a fantastic lesson for the kids, and they really enjoy it. This also helps during those super fun but challenging months when our excitement can lead us to unintentionally behave inappropriately.

The stuffed Grinches will be a gift to thank the students for teaching our Grinch how to behave and to show that his heart has grown. The little stuffed toys will be used for reading practice when we work on our new books. The dinosaur will be our class mascot for December, chosen by the kids. I'll put a Christmas hat on it, and we'll use it for various activities throughout the month.
